BLOG POST: Yes to the Power in Sport Night – recap & photos

Wow, last night. I really appreciated the messages of giving just a bit more; why sport is so important (because of the ability to touch 1000’s of people in an emotional impactful way); and how one must break the rules in their head to become all that they are capable of (to name a few). It made me think we have something special starting here with these ‘Power in Sport Nights’ in Vancouver. My wish is for more people to come out and benefit from these messages. It’s so powerful when you hear them ‘in the flesh’ there in front… Read more →

BLOG & PHOTOS: A visit with Special Olympians, March 15 2014

Special Olympians brighten the day Mar 15, 2014 This weekend I visited over 12 Special Olympians before they started their swim practice at Minoru Aquatic Centre in Richmond. I met their coach, Janice Low, at a UBC Pitch event and she invited me to come speak with the group. We spoke about the power in sport and our ideas about bringing an Olympic attitude to their swim practice. Photos of a few of the members of the swim team. Incredibly enthusiastic, these people reminded me what it’s like to live in gratitude and enthusiasm more often than not. Here are… Read more →

A night of The Power in Sport, Tues Feb 18th in Vancouver Our ‘The Power in Sport’ night gathered a small quality group of people together. We shared stories and reveled in the Olympics (somewhat) and mostly visited. Our hosts at The Cottage Bistro on Main St. did a great job of serving us while most of us took the microphone. It’s amazing that even though we started with two speakers we ended up with many more! A thank you to The Cottage Bistro and his team for their great service, Stephen and JJ Bean on Commercial Drive for gift… Read more →

POST: How can we speak to 200 people a week?

Feb 5, 2014 – Last night I was on the 3-person panel of a UBC-hosted event in Vancouver called ‘The Next Step.’  Click here for more.  Basically it’s series of events designed to engage UBC students and alumni with a panel of people who are in industry. With 200 in the audience, I jumped at the opportunity to take 90 seconds to invite them to add their name to the declaration “2015 – The Year of Women in Sport.” Several people enthusiastically approached me after to talk more! We are ready to spread the message. Do you know of other… Read more →

For those you who came out last night, you quickly became a connected and tight group at The Cottage Bistro on Main. Such high quality people! We visited, ate together, wrote, and shared perspectives about the power in sport. Our name tags included words such as vision to fun to connection. We heard comments during the ‘chat and draw’ session such as ‘the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world’, ‘total equality between men and women’, and bringing… Read more →
