Event recap May 20 2014

May 21 2014 Confessions…confessions…confessions. That’s what we were about Tuesday night.   Linda Diano (me) opened the night but didn’t confess too much! She set the stage and spoke about a passion for wanting to use sport as a way of improving lives and connecting communities. She referenced Nelson Mandela and his comment that ‘sport has the power to change the world.’ This is why she inviting everyone to declare 2015 The Year of Women in Sport.  Why? UBC Women’s Field Hockey – POP CUP

April 2014. The University of British Columbia (UBC) Varsity Women’s Field Hockey Program hosted its 27th annual ‘Pop Cup’ in honour of Dianna Popowich. Each year this amazing spirited event brings together Women’s Field Hockey alumni, their families, and children with the current University T-Birds. The usual alumni-current team game is played followed by a reception to honour the recipient of the Dianna Popowich Memorial Scholarship. This legacy event speaks to the strength of the Women’s Field Hockey program at UBC and the strength of their alumni community. The Whitecaps & Latino event

April 9 2014 We met up with the Whitecaps last Friday. We continue to make connections to further the message of The Power in Sport! Bobby Lenarduzzi made himself available and spoke warmly with all the visitors. He is such a warm person and a good representative for sport.   Remember 1979 and the Soccer Bowl?
