Today we are celebrating the sport of field hockey as the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow is well underway. One of our contributors is Dave Jameson, a current Canadian national team player who just completed his 200th cap while playing at these Games.

What is a past highlight in the history of field hockey, as you know it?

The introduction to field hockey being played on artificial turf.

 
What is a present highlight?

Australia Men winning the world cup in 2014 in the Netherlands.

 
What is your hope for the sport of field hockey?

For it to grow in Canada so that we can have a larger talent pool of players to choose from for the national team thus the national teams get better.

 
Who are you & what should we know about you?

I play field hockey for Canada. My name is David Jameson. I am currently playing in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
